A Memorial Day Thank You This is the text of a letter I composed and sent out via e-mail on Memorial Day May 26, 2003 It was intended to be given to all of you who visited Rhiannon's website, and also, those who sent words of love and support through the guestbook. Unfortunately, the task proved to be daunting, and I encountered several problems with sending so many e-mails.
Please know that, even if you didn't receive one, the issue was purely technical, and that this thank you is for you, as well.
Dear Friends....
I have been planning to write this letter for quite sometime, but have not got to it until now. I suppose that it is fitting that I share these thoughts with you on Memorial Day, as we have so much to remember.
I wish to convey heartfelt thanks from myself, and all of Rhiannon's family for the outpouring of support, love, and caring that you have given through these difficult times. Though Rhiannon's passing was a painful tragedy for us all, a warm blanket of grace and peace has been placed around everyone that knew her, or came to know her. Her warm smile and loving heart has affected lives all over the world in ways that might not have been possible in life. And the emptiness that is felt by those who miss her is displaced by the inspiration and warmth that has been shared with thousands who never met her.
When I thought of creating the website for Rhiannon, I had no idea of the effect it would have, the number of people it would touch, or the healing power it would wield. I would like to share some statistics with you:
Since Feb 20, 2003 there have been over 7,459 individual visits to the home page.
There have been a total of over 36,715 total pages viewed
In the month of February alone, there was 2,452 individual visits (hits)
The site receives an average of 30 to 75 hits per day
There are 73 pages of guestbook entries;
363 total entries; over 20,000 total guestbook pages viewed
Rhiannon's site has won 4 major web awards and is nominated for several others.
I have received many compliments for this site, and appreciate being recognized. But you can't have a successful website without good content. The accolades belong to Rhiannon for being who she was... that there was so much inspirational material to present. We should all aspire to so much.
I must single out one person through all of this, though. My love and thanks to Myla, who selflessly devoted her time, expertise, (and girly touches) to help me get this off the ground.
Thank you, again, to all of you who visited Rhiannon's site, and those who signed the guestbook with words of support, and encouragement. I encourage everyone to visit occassionally. We are adding content as we can, and as long as people come...we will build it. You are all part of our family now, and we would love to hear from you. May God bless you and yours.
